Does anyone else dream of things before they happen?

Post by damselindistress » Thu May 29, 2014 3:15 am

I t dream about things before they happen sometimes, like once i dreamed my friend asked a cute guy out and everything she said was like a poem, but he rejected her and he turned around and kissed me:blowingkisses:, and the next day my friend told me that she was in love and showed me a poem she wanted to give him , at that time i new that he would probably reject her (cause of my dream)and i was standing behind them when he said he didn't like her in that way, and then she walked off and i was going with her when the guy saw me and smiled (like he had a crush on me).so the kissing part didn't come true , but the rest did.I was just wondering if this happens to anyone else?

Personally... Sometimes. But not exactly. It's called prophetic dreams.
I've had a dream where i declined a job position. And in waking life it was just after I was set up to have an interview... Needless to say how that ended.
When all else fails , you clearly need to brainstorm some better plans.

My whole life I have dreamed about people I eventually have met, sometimes years later. I typically meet people (while I am awake) in passing that I eventually come to know in a some meaningful way in the future. For instance, I stayed the night at my girlfriends house unbeknownst to her father and I slipped out in the morning before he had risen to go to work. I climbed through this barbed fence and crossed a field/forest area about 40 yards wide and emerged onto a dirt road that ran the length of a small neighborhood of well kept homes. I found myself standing in front of an attractive young couple who were staring at me and likely wondering from where I had just came. 2 years later, I met that girl at a party and we began dating soon thereafter. The guy she was with, Jason, I became friends with for years as well. Many times this has happened to me, ????

Wow u have dreamt alot more about the future than me. I remember when i was younger that a dream saved my fathers life. I dreamt that my neighbour would knock on the door and tell my dad she could hear buzzing comingg from our house , so my dad whent to the attic and found a bees nest he then looked closer and suddenly a load of bees startled him and he fell backwards right through the attic door amd then i woke up. The next day my nieghbour knocked on the door and told him about the buzzing but this time i told my dad he should call a bee exterminator before going up into the attic, so he did and luckily he is alive and well.

That's truly amazing. I wish I could say I have had prophetic dreams like yours, wherein someone avoided a disaster, but that type of dream I simply don't remember having. I have dreamt my whole life, though, and always been able to remember them. Lately I have dreams about places that I have never been to with rooms full of people that I don't (yet?) know. I have also had many apocalyptic dreams where I and those I care about are in the middle of a nuclear war or other disaster, but fortunately, these dreams have never come to pass, and I doubt seriously that they will... not at least in the form of a nuclear war! Thanks for sharing.

I used to get déjà vu a lot and before I really figured out that that was what was happening I had this really odd dream. It was vivid and looked like a still image of a camera. It was in a corner, I was kneeling and the walls were white. At each was was like a table or shelf and there were wires hanging out. About a month or two later, in the exact spot, with everything exactly as I remember it, I come down with a camera and freeze. I'm staring at the exact image I had in my dream but in my waking life. It was pretty bizarre and I realized that my dream wasn't a vivid still image but just me staring in shock and disbelief at it for like 10 seconds at my hands and the camera.

i get de ja vu sometimes, like i might go to the shops and pick up bread and i will be like "wait...haven't i done this before?"and then ill check through the basket to see if i picked up bread already. , but i also get this weird thing when i remember things that never actually happened to me , like yesterday i was walking down the road and i got a sudden flash of memory , unfortunately after about 1 or 2 minuets i forget it again:?!i think it had something to do with a basket of flowers, but I'm not sure, and I've never had a basket of flowers with me before.

Perhaps you were dreaming of a possible future, but its just so difficult when there are so many 'variables' in the world. But ask yourself this question, "Will you know when you have the right flowers in your basket, or do you know what the right flowers are?"

Well here in my neck of the woods its looked at as very odd needless to say that prophetic dreaming has caused me much distress! I have had prophetic dreams my entire life and the only times they have been inaccurate is when i try to prevent misfortune! Then the misfortune still occured but the details were altered.that can be troubling for me as i have a hugely accurate track record but have seen thing yet to come which can only be described as disastous! That kind of thing can make you wish you were crazy and not prophetic. Through many missteps and anger at god for a grand gift accompanied by small understanding i have discovered ... peace! I am at peace with this gift and understand that i am not meant to aLter situations just to have a calm that tends to assist others in chaotic events which ive already experienced via the dream world. Hope that helps you to embrace your ggifts! This gift kept me from sleeping on many occassions because i didnt want to see and i didnt want to be so different from others, we are just what is needed just when it is needed! Best of luck

Prophetic dreams aren't terribly common, but they're not terribly uncommon either. Some people have them all the time. Others never do, or only have them once or twice in their lives. I believe that a lot of people have them and don't remember them in the morning. Personally I have them once or twice a year, but I never recognize them for what they are till it's too late for them to do any good. As the most recent example, I dreamt last month about my daughter throwing her shoe through a window (breaking it in the process) and didn't recognize it as prophetic till a couple days later when she pulled her arm back to throw said shoe through said window. That's about as important as mine get, but some others here have dreamt about some pretty major things coming up.

Like any form of communication ... I find Prophetic dreams tend to have purpose that shows that there is a higher degree of language skills to program into ones personal computer ... That is why I go batty:neer:

I dreamt about losing the love of my life (as in she passed away) about 7 months before she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, just before she turned 30. Just 2 months prior I began to smell phantom scents when I sat on our couch and began to wonder if I had some kind of tumor. When we did find out from the bumbling doctors that she had a mass growing in her sinuses (SNUC), the only reason I lost her was because of mistakes that the doctors made. God, I wish I could have died in her place.

In the last 72 hours, I have had two extremely realistic dreams.

The first one was me receiving an email that I was accepted into the university of my choice. I won't know until two weeks from now if that was just a dream or a prophetic one.

The second one was today. I was taking a nap and I had dreamt that my best friend was texting the guy she is interested in and he came over to her house to watch a soccer game. I woke up and texted her asking if he was over there or if she was watching a soccer game on the tv and turns out, he was actually there. Not to watch soccer, but I can't help but think it means something.

Regarding being psychic, it seems more like a curse than a blessing in my opinion. Imagine for a moment that you could read the internal dialogue of anyone you were standing in front of. Could get pretty ugly. Myself, I don't get dialogue, I get emotions and motivations so much so that I have to actively tune out. Most people are selfish in virtually every thing they do, and of course, oblivious to their own nature. I understand that we are all motivated in a way that can be traced back to ourselves as it is our nature, but to be driven by greed, ambitious in the pursuit of hedonism in some form at the expense of anyone, even those whom we love, its quite depressing. Altruism is virtually dead today, most people are already an 'army of one' regardless of their circumstances, oblivious to the meaning they take for granted until it is threatened or lost somehow and even then, they just want things back to the way they were so that they can take them for granted once more. After all, are not we all entitled?;)

i agree, most of us take the simple things in life for granted like our health, security and happiness. there are people less fortunate than us who don't have these things and it would be wonderful to them to have a home , be happy and healthy,so we should start thanking life for what its given us and try to help others to obtain those things.

I had a prophetic dream two nights ago that a horrible and large hurricane will soon hit St. Augustine, FL and St, John's county. What is weird is that i've never been there or ever heard of the place before??? The dream was so profound I remembered it when I woke up and looked up the place to see if it was real or not. And it was!! Strange.:shock:Anyways, the chances of some horrible natural disaster predicted in incredible detail is probably slim to none. Right?
